AS OF FEBRUARY 20, 2025 all visits ….
… became virtual, through Simple Practice by appointment only. The physical office closed, so the discussion about masks during visits has become moot. Office hours are now limited to two mornings per week, on Monday and Thursday.
The practice has been and remains closed to new patients since early 2024. Established and currently active patients who continue to reside primarily in Tennessee are seen only virtually going forward and only by pre-planned appointment. Active patients are seen every 6 months at minimum or as previously arranged. Availability of emergency consultations is not assured: if an extremely urgent situation exists, you may contact Dr Salomon through Simple Practice messaging, or by text or voice to 615 239 5151. These systems are monitored usually daily, but at most 48 ‘business’ hours. For all very urgent care, please go to your nearest emergency room.
Inactive patients considering resuming care have all my best wishes. Requests for referrals will be addressed as possible in a timely but “not rush” manner (days or weeks, not hours). If a consultation in Tennessee is considered extremely urgent, call 911 for Emergency Medical Services, call 855-CRISIS-1 (855-274-7471) or 988 for the crisis line especially if concerns include suicidal thoughts, or visit a nearest ER for in-person medical and/or psychiatric evaluation. Contacting Dr Salomon between appointments remains primarily through the SP portal, by mail at the former physical office address (limited monitoring), or (when urgent but not life-threatening) by voice or text message at 615 239 5151 (for voice, option 2).
RE: COVID, FLU, RSV and other illnesses: Dr Salomon still cares about peoples’ health and encourages wearing masks in crowded public places. Any places where you’ll be in close proximity, even briefly, with a large number of people increases risk, especially if the others have recently been in other crowded places recently. For example, consider what’s happening while waiting for a few minutes with a dozen other people at an airport gate to board a flight. They’ve been traveling, and even without a sneeze there can be enough airborne particles to ruin your vacation or your activities on returning home. Use your best judgment. Be good to you. Masks DO NOT have serious side effects, so if in doubt, carry them and wear them at the slightest suspicion. COVID infections STILL do have serious and often prolonged side effects. Take care of yourself and of others you care for!
This also is important for caring for the more vulnerable individuals among us. Reduced spread is the best way to minimize reproduction and mutation formation for any pathogen. Variants continue to evolve, occurring by chance whenever someone becomes ill with them. They still have the potential to produce serious illness. Minimization of virus replication is of great importance to all of us.
Stay safe, stay healthy!
